Billy Graham and Franklin Graham are false prophets, along with Charles Stanley, John MacArthur, John Piper, Paul Washer, Kirk Cameron, Ray Comfort, Alistair Begg, R.C. Sproul, Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Calvary Chapel, some Baptists and many, many, other national radio and TV preachers and denominations.
All of these guys -seem- to be respectable and they do teach lots of moral and biblical truth.
But–they do not teach the Biblical Gospel of Grace.
If you get the Gospel of Grace wrong, spiritually, all is lost.
All of these men and groups very subtly but very clearly preach salvation by: repentance of sins good works, and good works, and water baptism good works, and Lord’s Supper good works, and regular church attendance good works, and discipleship good works, and lifelong faithfulness good works.
These false teachers loudly claim that the “real Christians” are the ones with morally clean lives and kindness. But I personally know Mormons and secular people who are morally decent and kind. Their good works will not save them, and the Bible tells you that.
Jesus indicated that there would be -many- false prophets -among us-.
The Apostle Paul condemned (“anathema” curse) anyone who preaches a false Gospel, in Galatians chapter one.
Salvation is an eternal and irrevocable and guaranteed and sealed gift of God received through a moment of faith in Jesus (Ephesians chapter one).
As believers in Jesus we -should- do good works, living by grace, faith, and the Holy Spirit. It is God’s will that we do good works and live as children of God.
But doing good works, any at all, is -not- required for us to become saved or to stay saved. Good works are not allowed for the assurance of salvation. The assurance of salvation comes from the internal witness of the Holy Spirit in our spirits when we believe and when we think about our belief in the Gospel.
Here are a few preachers that I know for sure preach the true Gospel of Grace: Retired Preacher (web); Bob Wilkin of Grace Evangelical Society; and David J. Stewart of the Jesus is Savior website. All have online resources.
The truth about salvation is found in John 6:47 and 1st Corinthians 15:1-4.
If you disagree with anything I have said here, please let me know. I am open to correction and I ask for it. I have been corrected and refined many times in my understanding, but the Gospel is the central truth of Christianity. Without it, you have nothing. If you get it wrong, you are not saved.
Jesus did everything for our salvation, and we do nothing to be saved except believe in Him.
Just as the New Testament says.
