I’m speaking from my own personal experience of course, but this is equally true of other saints who have rested in Christ’s finished work.
A person who truly hungers to rest in grace will persue it voraciously; he is compelled by the Spirit of God. What does it really mean? How does it apply to me? He’ll dig, and dig, and dig until he hits paydirt. Not settling for the dung that most of religion is selling. He knows from his insides that what he’s hearing from false religion is the opposite of rest. And he knows that he can’t maintain pursuing that which can’t be attained to by efforts. God enlightens him. He comes to know what to rest in Him means, and he gladly & gratefully does so.
And thereafter, whatever upstanding false religion has to say no longer matters to him in the least. Because it’s all…
