The fact that certain pastors and preachers are on this list will be shocking to many people.

Finding out that certain of these people teach a false gospel was extremely upsetting to me.

Please know this.

Some of these preachers I loved and listened to for 30 years.

Also, understand that Jesus Himself said that FEW would be SAVED and that there would be MANY FALSE PROPHETS. The Lord Jesus even questioned whether He would find faith on the earth when He returned—not millions and billions of believers and packed churches and stadiums—He questioned whether He would find anyone at all who believed. JOHN CALVIN – Lordship Salvation False Gospel to the core. One of the Fathers of LSFG because of his Perseverance of the Saints False Doctrine (the “P” in TULIP, which teaches salvation by lifetime commitment to discipleship and faithfulness and good works. Murdered Servetus and others who opposed him. LSFG

*CHARLES SPURGEON – Don’t let anyone tell you he did not teach a Lordship Salvation False Gospel. Here is a Clear Lordship Salvation False Gospel quote by Charles Spurgeon:

“If the professed convert deliberately declares that he knows his Lord’s will but does not intend to obey it, you are not to pamper his presumption. Rather it is your duty to assure him that he is not saved. Has not the Lord said, “Whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple” (Luke 14:27)?” pg 33.

Salvation is a free gift received by faith in Christ. Those who believe the Gospel of Christ are eternally saved (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Salvation is not predicated upon someone obeying the Lord‘s will, as Spurgeon says above.

Bearing one’s cross is a condition, as *Jesus* clearly says above, of being a disciple.

Discipleship and salvation are two separate issues.

Salvation is a free gift.

Discipleship certainly is not.

When a preacher or teacher or church conflates salvation with discipleship you end up with salvation by works: Lordship salvation false gospel.  Some say Lordship salvation false gospel has infected up to 99.9% of all churches in America.  —Curtis Smale

This is a quote from the Google book: “THE SOUL WINNER,” page 22…

“Another proof of the conquest of a soul for Christ will be found in a real change of life. If the man does not live differently from what he did before, both at home and abroad, his repentance needs to be repented of, and his conversion is a fiction.”

At the end of the quote above, it is clear that Charles Spurgeon is talking about conversion, that which enables salvation. He is saying that for a person to have eternal life, they must have a real change of life, they must live differently, they must repent of their sins and live right. This is textbook Lordship Salvation False Gospel.

*BILLY GRAHAM – Endlessly preached unbiblical “repenting of sins” and “making a commitment to Christ” and “public confession” for salvation: Lordship “Salvation” False Gospel Preacher.  Of course, half the time he preached the Gospel of Grace, and then took it away by preaching Lordship Salvation False Gospel.

Billy and Franklin Graham teach a false plan of salvation, which is religion at its best and theology at its worst. Here is what the website for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) states concerning how to be saved…

What do I have to do to go to heaven?

God isn’t waiting to judge you. God isn’t waiting to condemn you. He’s waiting to receive you with mercy, with love, with open arms, and forgive all your sins. Will you come to Him? Nowhere in the Bible is a person required to “promise to live for Him” to be saved. Nowhere in the Bible is a person required to “turn from your sin” to be saved. These are unbiblical requirements which Billy Graham has added to the simplicity which is in Christ.

Pastor John MacArthur of the Grace Community Church has authored a heretical book titled, “HARD TO BELIEVE” in which he errantly teaches…

“Salvation isn’t the result of an intellectual exercise. It comes from a life lived in obedience and service to Christ as revealed in the Scripture; it’s the fruit of actions, not intentions. There’s no room for passive spectators: words without actions are empty and futile…The life we live, not the words we speak, determines our eternal destiny” (Hard to Believe, p. 93). [emphasis added]

If “the life we live” determines our eternal destiny,” (not Jesus’ perfect life, death for all our sins, burial, and resurrection from the dead on the third day),” then salvation is by works!!

Also, John MacArthur mocks the Gospel as an “intellectual exercise.” Jesus did everything for our salvation. All we have to do is believe the Gospel of Jesus. John MacArthur mocks believing in the Gospel and he mocks what Jesus did for us by implying that believing in the Gospel is an ineffective intellectual exercise.

Bob Wilkin and Grace Evangelical Society – The Crossless Gospel, Death-less, Resurrection-less False Gospel.

Wilkin’s Gospel is the Most Deceptive False Gospel I have ever found. He teaches that Jesus said in John 6:47 that if you believe in Jesus, you have everlasting life: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes (in Me) has everlasting life.” This is true. Jesus is saying that we are saved (have eternal life) if we believe in Him, and of course, we are.

The question is, who is Jesus? He is the God-man. What did He do for our salvation? He died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. (1st Corinthians 15:1-4)

Bob Wilkin and Grace Evangelical Society have a False Gospel emptied of the truth and Gospel power of what Jesus did for us in His death and resurrection. If a person believed that they were saved only because someone named Jesus said they were saved if they believed in Him, then they may not be saved. Why? Why is this so important?

If a person believes that a guy named “Jesus” promises him eternal life, then he is saved, according to Wilkin and the GES. This is what they call the “message of life.” Well, if it is true that you can be saved by believing this promise, without content, then it is also true that a person who believed the “message of life” could reject Jesus’ claim to be God and man. A person believing the “message of life” could also reject Jesus’ death for his sins and His resurrection—and still be saved.

No. People who believe, or who have believed the Gospel, are saved. People who reject the Gospel, and never believe it, are damned.

*Also, Bob Wilkin specifically teaches that a person CANNOT get eternal life from believing the Gospel,* (!) but will be saved only if he believes in the “promise of life,” or the “message of life” given in verses such as John 6:47. This teaching of Wilkin and Grace Evangelical Society is in direct contradiction to the teaching of the Bible. This is why Bob Wilkin is a heretic and a False Gospel teacher.

People who believe what he believes could believe in a false Christ, or believe a false Gospel (both are possibilities the New Testament warns us about.)

Also, eternal life is a RESULT of believing the Gospel, of believing in the Person and Work of Christ. Eternal life is NOT PART of the Gospel.

I was originally attracted to Bob’s work because of his refutations of Lordship Salvation False Gospel.

Here are a few Bible verses that shut down Wilkin and the GES’ “Christ’s Death for sins-less and Resurrection-less False Gospel.” (We ARE eternally saved by belief in the Gospel of Christ, justified by Jesus’ Blood, saved by Jesus’ Cross, saved by Jesus’ Death, and Jesus’ Resurrection):

GOSPEL: Romans 1:16  — For I am not ashamed of the GOSPEL OF CHRIST: for it is the THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION to every one that BELIEVES; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

BLOOD: Romans 5:9 — Much more then, being now JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD, we shall be SAVED from wrath through him.

CROSS: 1st Corinthians 1:18 — For the preaching of the CROSS is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which ARE SAVED it is the power of God.

DEATH: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 — Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have BELIEVED in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ DIED for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the scriptures.

RESURRECTION: Romans 10:9 — That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath RAISED him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.

Jack Chick Tracts – LSFG, their evangelistic tracts teach that repentance from sins and following Jesus are conditions for salvation

Moody – repentance of sins for salvation, discipleship for salvation, Lordship Salvation False Gospel

Calvary Chapel – LSFG. I talked in person to pastor Eric Cartier of Rocky Mountain Calvary for two hours about his Youth Pastor who preached explicit works salvation to his congregation. He backed the youth pastor and refused to be clear on the Gospel.

Some of these guys might have believed in Jesus for salvation in the past (and so they would be saved and indwelled by the Holy Spirit), they may have taught the Biblical Gospel of Grace in the past, but currently they teach a False Gospel, or the Biblical Gospel of Grace and then also a False Gospel, alternating back and forth. Some are very suspect because of the writing partners or the people they theologically associate with or endorse.

The NIV Bible is a beautiful English translation, but many crucial verses, which were mistranslated, preach Lordship Salvation False Gospel.

Most megachurches and Christian radio stations and Christian bookstores preach and teach LSFG.

Of course, all of the following religions teach their own version of a False Gospel of Salvation by Good Works: Latter Day Saints/Mormon, Jehovah’s Witness, Seventh Day Adventist, Church of Christ, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Occult, Atheist, Agnostic, Humanism, Scientism, Spiritualism, and all non-Free Grace “Christian” churches teach their own version of a False Gospel of Salvation by Good Works: “I’m a good person, worthy of Heaven, because I do these good things, because I do these rituals or obey these laws, or because I meditate long enough, or because I am kind and loving.”

This list is not comprehensive. Obviously, there are thousands more prosperity preachers and false prophets. That list would be so long that many less obvious names would be lost in the deluge, so I have not included them here.

There are only two faiths: “Jesus is my Savior, I believe in the Gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4,” or: “I am a good person because of the good works I do.”

Our sins prove we are not, by nature, good people in the sight of God.  We are all in desperate need of the forgiveness and salvation of Jesus Christ.

I love God, and I love people, because God loved me first. God has enabled me to forgive. I believe that I will live in Heaven with Jesus and live on the New Earth united with Heaven, with a glorified immortal body, because of the promises in the Bible. This is my destiny.

I have communion with God’s Spirit in my spirit. This communion with God is the most satisfying, peaceful, loving, warm, and joyful thing I have ever experienced.

His understanding evolved over time. Made many explicit Biblical Gospel of Grace statements— C.S. Lewis was strong on the Grace of God. Wonderful, warm, knowledgeable, intelligent, gracious, at times quite fierce, and insightful writer. Absolutely brilliant and learned beyond any non-Bible author on this page. My favorite prose writer of all time. “Mere Christianity” is my favorite non-Bible book. Good on basic truths and deep insights, but definitely not the best Biblical Free Grace theologian. Unbelievably Valuable for so many reasons, even if he were LSFG, which I pray with all my soul and hope he was not, and do not think he was.

The biggest false teachers/preachers/churches are: the Roman Catholic Church (some within this church are saved, if they believe in Jesus’ Gospel alone without relying on any of their own good works), The Lutheran Church (which I grew up in), (and almost all Reformed and Calvinist Churches), Billy Graham, John MacArthur, and John Piper.

There are many, MANY other False Gospel Teachers who teach that SALVATION comes by ~repenting from sins~ and a ~commitment~ to ~lifelong discipleship~ or ~public confession of faith~ or ~water baptism~ or ~discipleship~ or anything  that is added to the finished work of Christ in his death for our sins and his resurrection. These all teach WORKS RIGHTEOUSNESS salvation. But the Bible says that salvation is a FREE GIFT received through faith in Jesus.

People think these churches and preachers are conservative and respectable, but they are deadly. Jesus said: “*MANY* false prophets will appear and DECEIVE *MANY* PEOPLE.” (Jesus, in Matthew 24:11), and Paul the apostle, in Galatians chapter one, puts -two- curses on anyone who preaches a False Gospel.

Lordship Salvation is a False Gospel because it teaches repentance from your sins, discipleship, and persevering in good works as necessary for your salvation.

The Gospel is found in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4: “Now, brothers, I want to remind you of THE GOSPEL I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this Gospel you are SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of FIRST IMPORTANCE: that

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…”

Notice that there is no mention of repentance of sins or water baptism, or discipleship included as the way to be saved. These are NOT part of the saving Gospel.

The Bible clearly says that salvation is “not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:9)

Everyone who believes in Jesus alone, without simultaneously relying on his or her good works to be saved, has everlasting life. (John 6:47: Most assuredly, I say to you, he [or she] who believes HAS everlasting life.”)
