Reality and Truth

aRP9hox

“God has so designed things that Man cannot legislate a new Reality into existence, no matter how hard he tries. No matter how many people believe the lie, vote for the lie, agree with the lie, are peer-pressured into a lie, or are brainwashed by a lie–a lie is still just a lie. And, in the end, Reality, designed by God, will have its results, good and bad. Scientists do not create physical reality, they only discover it. A man in a white coat cannot make Evolution into Truth. A Professor cannot make up Reality. A Congress and a Court Supreme cannot make abnormal sexual perversity and child-murder right. The Real World is ~never~ a Fantasyland created by our imaginations and feelings. (Those kinds of things only happen in movies!) The Wonderful Reality, created by God Himself, is called Heaven, (with a Perfect New Earth, and Perfect Bodies) and this Place will only be found by those who believe in Jesus as their divine Savior, crucified for all sins, and resurrected to eternal life.”

What Is Love?

“Love is desiring and taking action for the highest good of another. It can be expressed by who you are in Christ, by what you believe, by what you feel, by what you say, by what you do, by connection to God, by connection to others, by listening, by caring, by helping, by encouraging, by giving time, by giving money, by giving food and goods, by teaching, by forgiving everyone of everything continually, by praying, by self-sacrifice, by knowing, by loving presence, by acceptance, by goodwill, by faithfulness, by wisdom, by kindness, sometimes by anger, sometimes by rebuke, sometimes by taking drastic action to protect, by truth, by understanding, and by many other things…”

52 Lies Satan is Telling You

Satan constantly bombards people’s minds with all kinds of lies straight from Hell, such as these:

“There is no Satan.”

“There is no Hell.”

“Hell is not forever.”

“Hell is a party and all your friends will be there.”

“Any suffering in Hell is minor.”

“There is no afterlife.”

“Heaven is a fantasy not a reality.”

“There is no God. God is just a silly childish idea in your mind like the Tooth Fairy.”

“There is no God.”

“You are God.”

“Life is common in the universe.” (This from “scientists” who purportedly rely on ‘evidence’ in their profession.)

“There is no evidence of ‘design’ that God created the universe.”

“All life evolved from a common ancestor that arose from the cosmic soup billions of years ago.” (Used to be ‘millions’ of years ago.)

“We are entering the Next Ice Age.” (1980s)

“The earth is warming up dangerously.” (2000s)
(In contrast to God’s clear statement in Genesis that there would always be seasons of cold and heat until the end.)

“There is no absolute morality–no good and evil.”

“People are naturally ‘good.’”

“There is no ultimate meaning to anything.”

“Whatever you believe is true for you.” (Unless you believe the doctrines of Christianity.)

“There are many groups of people older than the people mentioned in Genesis.”

“Christians are incapable of rationality.”

(The world’s new definition of “tolerate” is *to not disagree* with anything that attacks God and His Word.)

“God goes by many names–every other “God” out there is the same as the Christian God: Allah, Buddha, Krishna, etc. …”

“All religions are equally effective to save your soul.”

“The Bible is just a bunch of myths that ignorant and uneducated people believe.”

“Jesus was just a man.”

“Jesus’ bones are buried over in the Holy Land.” (director James Cameron.)

“Jesus never said all these things that are attributed to Him in the Bible.”

“The historical reality of Jesus is nil. He never existed. He is just a myth.”

“You are a good person. You don’t need Jesus to forgive your “sins.”

“Jesus never rose from the dead.”

“There is no such thing as sin or evil.”

“All sins are the same in degree of wrongness.”

“The Bible is just the words of men.”

“The Bible has been vastly altered since it was first written.”

“Science has proven the Bible wrong.”

“Women are the same as men.”

“Women can be pastors.”

“A woman has the right to end her pregnancy.”

“Homosexuality is normal. Practicing homosexuality is something to be proud about and to celebrate.”

“Science conflicts with the Bible.”

“The universe is billions of years old.” (The Bible genealogies and recorded lifespans indicate about 6,000 years.)

“Your lifelong discipleship good works are part of your ~justification~. They are necessary for your salvation.” (Wrong. Salvation is a free gift to those who believe in the God-man Jesus who died on the cross for all sins and rose again on the third day. (1st Corinthians 14:1-4) )

“The Difference Between Belief, Opinion, Fact, and Truth”

So, what is the difference between “belief,” “opinion,” “fact,” and “truth”?

First, let’s look at some dictionary definitions.

Belief:
a feeling of being sure that someone or something exists or that something is true; a feeling that something is good, right, or valuable;  a feeling of trust in the worth or ability of someone; a state or habit of mind in which trust or confidence is placed in some person or thing; something believed; especially :  a tenet or body of tenets held by a group

Believe:
to accept or regard something as true

Opinion:
 a belief, judgment, or way of thinking about something : what someone thinks about a particular thing;
belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge

Fact:
something that truly exists or happens : something that has actual existence; a true piece of information; something that has actual existence; an actual occurrence; a piece of information presented as having objective reality

Truth:
the truth : the real facts about something : the things that are true; the quality or state of being true;
a statement or idea that is true or accepted as true
b :  sincerity in action, character, and utterance
(1) :  the state of being the case :  fact (2) :  the body of real things, events, and facts :  actuality (3) often capitalized :  a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality
b :  a judgment, proposition, or idea that is true or accepted as true

Most secular people today, and also many Christians, think that beliefs and opinions are identical. They also often think that facts and truth are the same thing. But there are very important distinctions between these four things.

A belief is something that is held to be true. It is distinct from an opinion in that it is often, especially in religious connotations, a tenet that regards the universal truth about objective reality.

An opinion is a personal evaluation of someone or something that assigns a value or critique of that thing, such as a movie review.

A fact is a statement, usually about physical reality, such as a “scientific fact.” It is also often an accurate statement of events that have occurred.

“Truth” is the way things actually are, whether we like it or not. For example, either there is a God or there is not. One is true and the other is false. It cannot be both true and false that God exists. To assert that this is the case is to destroy rationality.

Two Notes:
I disagree with the two areas of modern bias in the dictionary quotes above. A belief is not a “feeling.” (This is an attempt of modern unbelievers to make all beliefs a matter of emotion. They are not.

An older version of the ~same~ dictionary defines” belief” as, “an assent of the mind to the truth of a declaration, proposition, or alleged fact, on the ground of evidence, distinct from personal knowledge. I’d say that hits the target.

Secondly, under, “Truth,” I don’t know what a “real fact” would be in contrast to a “fact.” There seems to be a subtle scepticism as to what a “fact” is, included in this phrase.

The Most Important Truth

image

The most important truth is that, out of His great love for all people, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be the substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of all mankind, to unite people with Him, for His glory.

Jesus is God and man. He lived a perfect and sinless life of love, He died on the cross to pay for the sins of all people who ever lived, He was buried, and He rose again from death to life three days later, providing forgiveness and eternal life and Heaven, (permanently and irrevocably guaranteed), for all who simply once believe in Him as Savior. (John 6:47; 1st Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 1:13,14.)

Please believe in Jesus as your Savior from sin, death, and Hell today.
