My Confession of Faith in Jesus, by Curtis Smale

I believe in Jesus.

Jesus and the inspired New Testament writers say that people who believe in the Son, Jesus, have eternal life. (John 3:36) Therefore, thank God, I have eternal life, because I believe in Jesus.

I believe the Gospel of Christ.

In the Bible (1st Corinthians 15:1-4) it says that those who believe the Gospel of Christ are saved. Therefore, I am saved. The gifts of God are irrevocable.

Those who believe in Christ, believe also in the Gospel (the Person and Work of Jesus: who He is and what He did.)

The Gospel is that Jesus died for my sins: He shed His blood and He died on the cross according to the Scriptures, and He was buried. And then He rose again from the dead—He was resurrected on the third day according to the Scriptures.

Because I believe in Jesus, I am saved and nothing can stop the fact that I will go to Heaven, because God has promised eternal salvation to believers.

Even if I lose my faith, even if I commit great sins, even if I do no good works, I will go to Heaven because I am saved by faith in Jesus. Jesus is the Savior. Jesus is MY Savior.

I love Jesus because He first loved me. (1st John 4:19)

I am in Christ. I am a new person in Christ. (2nd Cor. 5:17) This new holy sinless person in Christ wants to do the will of God. It gives me great peace to please God by doing His will, by living by His Spirit, and by exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit: love, Joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. (Galatians 2:20)

I am destined for Heaven, thank God, because by the grace of God I believe in Jesus.

Nothing can cause me to lose my salvation, the irrevocable gift given to me by God. (Romans 11:29)

I have forgiveness of all my sins through faith in Christ. (Colossians 2:13)

Jesus is the Lover of my soul.

Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament Law. Jesus is the great subject of the Old Testament, of all the types and shadows.

God the Father, Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, Three in One, is the Triune God.

I thank and praise God that He has saved me by faith in Jesus.

I thank Him for forgiving all my sins, past, present and future. (Colossians 2:13)

I will be with Him in Heaven in the place He is preparing for me. (John 14:3)

I am a citizen of Heaven. (Philippians 3:20)

My name is written in Heaven. (Luke 10:20)

God has declared me not guilty of all sins.

God is not what many people represent Him to be.

God is love. (1st John 4:8) God is the God of all comfort. (2nd Corinthians 1:3,4) God gives grace and love and forgiveness of sins.

But God also punishes the wicked. God also chastens and rebukes and disciplines His children. In fact, Jesus said if He does not discipline you then you’re not one of His kids.

God protects and provides for His children.

God made the universe, and has control of it, but this does not mean that He’s going to use His power to fulfill all of your personal fantasies.

In the Psalms and elsewhere it says that rich unbelievers often have a life that is filled with comfort and pleasure. They often are in no trouble in their life. But on the day of their death, God will cast them into Hell, because they have rejected God and Jesus, and because their sins are not paid for.

The most righteous and loving person on earth must still pay for his sins in Hell.

Only faith in Jesus can save you from Hell.

Jesus said that if you abide in His Word, you are His disciple indeed.

The Word of God, the Scripture, is a living interactive written source of truth that interacts one verse with another, to produce an ongoing elevation and higher resolution of truth in the mind of the child of God.

The true gospel is so simple and yet it is rarely being preached in any churches!

The true Gospel is found in first Corinthians 15:1-4:

“Now I make known to you, brothers, THE GOSPEL which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are SAVED, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you BELIEVED in vain. For I delivered to you as of FIRST IMPORTANCE what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…”

The reason all of this is so important is that there is a God who demands to be worshiped. Also, every human being is a sinner who will face God‘s judgment for their sins and His wrath for their sins in Hell if they do not receive the forgiveness of sins through faith in Christ.

God is not “threatening us with Hell if we don’t believe.” Hell is the result of divine justice for our sins. God, by sheer love and gift is giving us the easy way out not only of the punishment for sins, but also of reuniting with Himself, which is the soul’s greatest desire: to be fulfilled in God, to be in God, and to have God in him—and that is what we received in Christ.

It is the believer’s greatest joy to know the love of Jesus and to know our eternal destiny to be in Heaven with God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

We love God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We love him because He first loved us. Heaven is our home and our destiny.

The Word of God, the Bible, the Scripture, is our guarantee, a written guarantee of eternal life.

Not only did Jesus die for us, believers also died with Christ, our sinful nature died with Him, and believer sin Jesus also were raised with Him.

Believers are new creations, new persons, in Christ.

Although we still sin, our identity is not as “sinners,” but as saints, as that is our spiritual reality in Christ.

Believers can live in His love.

Most “Christian” churches do not preach the true Gospel of eternal salvation: eternal salvation through a moment of faith—irrevocable salvation through moment of faith in Jesus. Most churches preach a False Gospel called Lordship Salvation which adds repentance of sins, lifetime discipleship, water baptism, no big sins, regular church attendance, faithfulness unto death, and many other good works, making this Gospel a False Gospel of mere human good works that cannot save. (Matthew 7:15) God twice curses all False Gospels in Galatians chapter one. (Galatians 1:8,9)

I thank God Jesus is my Savior.

I live in God’s love and I forgive and love others.

Jesus will, at any moment, appear in the sky to gather all believers to Himself, and take believers to be with Him in Heaven. Later, in resurrected perfect bodies, the book of Revelation says we will live on a New Earth 🌏.

Then, Heaven will come down to Earth, and we will live forever with God.
