Lordship Salvation, Defined

♦ Lordship “salvation” Defined

By the ExPreacherMan Administrators

God’s Word clearly states that salvation is by Grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Ephesians 2:8-9: [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Lordship “salvation” (LS) is the unsupportable and unbiblical belief that the PERFORMANCE of good works, the PROMISE of good works, or the EVIDENCE of good works MUST accompany faith in Christ in order to establish, or provide evidence, that such faith has resulted in eternal life.

  1. You literally left out verse 10 where scripture states that we were saved for good works. Why did you do this? You seem to cherry pick scripture to fit your narrative here.

Verse 10 does not say we are saved by works. It says we “should” walk in good works.

Again, verse 8 says we are saved by grace, not works. Verse 10 says we are created to do good works, and yes, we should do good works, if we are saved.

Notice in verse 10, the KJV, the word is “should” walk in works. Other verses in the Bible declare that we “should” be baptized. We “should” have communion, in memory of Christ.

The Freewill Baptist wash feet, in memory of Christ, humbling himself, a King, to wash his servant’s feet. (His disiples). But these are works, and are independent of salvation.

If verse 10 is understood to mean we are “saved” by workmanship, then verse 10 is disputing verse 8. If any Bible disputes itself within 2 verses, I would have serious problems reading it any further.
