I came to the realization today that many of the songs on Christian radio are talking about self: how I changed my life, how I feel, my doubts, my shortcomings, etc.
The Christian hymns of the ages, by contrast, have always been in reverent worship to God alone. These other things are legitimate, but as far subordinate themes.
